Dataminers have found evidence of a new type of item called 'Gadgets' in Apex Legends. Here's everything we know and what to expect from gadgets.

Reliable dataminer Shrugtal found some code in the latest Apex Legends build that refer to Gadgets. In a recent developer livestream, a mysterious new UI was presented with an unknown item slot. Some new purple floor loot were also seen.

This led Shrugtal to believe that the fourth item slot in the UI would be for Gadgets, and perhaps the purple items are Gadgets in the overworld.

Shrugtal speculates that these gadgets are non-combat throwables, like smoke grenades or other utility items.

Shrugtal, the longtime leaker of Apex goodies, reckons that the event could go live a matter of days after the end of the current Chaos Theory one.

However, fans are getting fed up with expensive events as the only realistic ways of getting their hands on a coveted heirloom. The introduction of gadgets has some major implications in a hero shooter. The utility skills are what make each Legend unique. Previously, Legends had to be tweaked when other Legends impeded on their territory. Lifeline was almost irrelevant when Gibraltar got a buff to healing in his shield until she got a minor rework.

Utility items like smoke grenades might impede on some of the Legends' abilities. If smoke grenades can be used by anyone, what would make Bangalore unique? How would something like a decoy grenade work when that's what Mirage is known for?

It'll be interesting to see how Respawn handles utility gadgets in a hero based game like Apex Legends. We might catch a glimpse at Gadgets during the next collection event.

April Fool’s Day is just under a week away. Apex Legends will be celebrating the holiday once again with ridiculous weapons and some new gameplay changes that are bizarrely specific, according to a new Apex Legends leak from a reliable source.

Last year, developer Respawn Entertainment released the gold Mozambique. The traditionally awful shotgun pistol went from its measly three rounds to nine and featured a gold Shotgun Bolt, as well as a 1X Digital Threat scope. Fans loved the gold Mozambique and begged for that version of the gun to be added permanently to the game, which Respawn did for Season 8 - albeit in a more toned-down and balanced form. Respawn also permanently increased the default number of rounds the gun could hold from three to four, making the gun not as awful as it used to be.

There will be more than the return of the nine-round Mozambique this year, according to dataminer Shrugtal, who correctly revealed all the details of the recent Anniversary Collection Event. This year’s April Fool’s Day event will feature a gold P2020 that deals more damage, holds more ammo per clip, and deals 190 damage-per-shot when used from a zipline or balloon. The P2020 is perhaps Apex’s second worst gun, and it is hard enough to down an enemy with when standing still, let alone while traversing a zipline. For 190 damage, surely lots of players are going to try their best to use it.

For this year's April Fools you can expect:
Gold Mozambique. (19 damage per pellet, 9 rounds)
Gold P2020. (25 damage, +7 ammo, 190 damage while on a zipline/balloon)
Airhorns.
Many many loot rollers raining from the sky.
A lot of gold weapons..
Fun.

Shrugtal also says that loot rollers, which are the loot balls carried by drones on World’s Edge, will be “raining from the sky,” and there will be a boosted spawn rate for gold weapons as well as airhorn sounds. The boosted rate for gold weapons comes at a perfect time, as Respawn made it possible to swap optic attachments on gold weapons earlier this month. This list of changes sounds like a recipe for one the most chaotic and meme-worthy events in Apex’s history. Moho pro for mac.

What might not be a joke apparently is the recent leaked gameplay video of Blisk as a playable Legend. Blisk is the founder of the Apex games, and also was the primary antagonist of the Titanfall 2 campaign. The leaked gameplay video shows off the mercenary calling in a titan that can’t be boarded but acts as a sort of auto-turret. Blisk’s tactical enables him to create a second ring, and his passive not only allows him to scan Survey Beacons, a-la Pathfinder’s passive, but wall run as well.

This list of abilities has led some to worry that Blisk will be far too overpowered compared to the rest of the characters if he is released. The fact that Respawn has said in the past that it will not feature wall running or titans leads some to believe this is actually a ruse, like the Legend Forge who ended up being murdered by actual Season 4 addition Revenant.
